Blog about activity in Ms. Hurley’s class
Mrs. Hurley’s class have been learning about the latest changes to the food pyramid on how we should be eating more fruit & veg.
The 3rd class all brought in vegetables & we made some yummy healthy autumn soup!!
The 3rd to 6th class went to the ambush site in Kilmichael on Monday 6th March with Charles Mccarthy & Conor O Driscoll. They visited the monument and the house where the boys went after the ambush. They saw the bog where 3 of the boys of Kilmichael were temporarily buried- today there is a cross standing in the bog.
A big thank you to Charles, Conor and Claire O Brien for bringing the children & for their wealth of knowledge!!
Congratulations to the 2nd, 3rd & 4th class boys who won their hurling blitz today in Ballinacarriga. They beat 4 other schools to progress to the county finals to be held in march in cork. Well done!
They have also been learning about the mountains and rivers of Ireland.
In History we are reading the story of Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge.
In Art we made an image of ‘The Salmon of Knowledge’
In Geography we learned about Mexico: learning a dance and a song and we also made Mexican maracas!
In Science we made wag-the-dog levers and investigated simple machines that use levers, gears, screws, wedges, inclining planes and wheels and axles.
We also leaned about The Beatles and can all sing the song Help! now.
