Football Free Fridays

Today the Active Schools Committee carried out a survey throughout the school to see if the children would enjoy a day without soccer/football as it was a subject that was suggested to the Active School Committee. The survey showed that the majority of pupils would like to have more of an opportunity to discover different activities. As a school we are going to pilot ‘football free Friday’ up until Christmas. ‘Football free Fridays’ is an initiative to encourage pupils to explore different activities and learn new skills with their peers. We are going to have our ‘first football free Friday’ on the 2nd of December.

Dedicated Dancers!

The whole school are very busy at the moment getting ready for the Christmas concert. Each week, we are practicing different dance moves and are really enjoying learning new skills in our dances with Jenny. We are looking forward to performing our new moves during the concert with you all.

Walkability Survey

The Green Schools Committee had the pleasure of working with Catherine Russell on Monday, to carry out a walk-ability survey around our school. The children each had different jobs and worked in groups to assess how safe it would be to walk to our school, from two different locations. Not only were the children out getting active, they were also using their measuring skills they had learn in class, to measure footpaths and the different distances around the school, using a trundle wheel and meter stick. It is great to see how the Green Schools Committee and the Active Schools Committee can work together to make our school a healthier environment.green-school-committeeimage3-240-x-320e measuring
