Seachtain na Gaeilge

We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge from 1st – 15th March. During this time, we organised many events to promote the Irish language and culture. Various events included a ciorcal cainte and scannán at lunch time, a tráth na gceist, biongó, ceilí dancing and learning songs in gaeilge.

We held a school ceolchoirm which invited the children to perform their talents in front of the school. It is evident that Ballinacarriga N.S. has many upcoming stars! Congratulations to all who performed on the day. Following the talent show, each class performed a song in gaeilge. To finish off the show, each class danced a ceilí dance in which they had been learning over the previous two weeks. Everyone had a great time while keeping the Irish language and culture alive.
